Gabe had major success in high schoo個子l, where he was a 4 x CIF服紙 Champion. Gabe woul水就d then take his talents to USC wher房自e he was a 3x All American and captai子明n of the men’s swim team. Upon com草子pleting his four years of swim at USC做作, Gabe retired from the sport d樂見ue to a pinched nerve in his shoulder煙海. He attended The Master’s College fo術慢r a year in Valencia w離在here he met and married his wife, S劇農taci. With a year before the 20弟金04 Olympic Games and with his sh鄉物oulder healing faster than expect要短ed, Gabe and Staci moved to Aliso Vi美日ejo to train with Jason Lezak in an a是得ttempt to make the 2004 USA Olympi近輛c Team. His dream came t舞笑rue a year later when he ea錢近rned the lead off spot on要爸 the prestigious 4 x 就我100 Freestyle relay. Team USA would go影山 on to win a bronze 又月medal.
