Despite retiring from competitive些分 swimming in 2008, Je哥中nsen remains the American雜女 record holder in both the 400m and 15訊朋00m freestyle events光信. Known as one of the greatest Americ火道an distance swimmers in history, Jen分樹sen’s 2004 Olympic silver 靜服medal in the 1500m was the hi書月ghest finish for an Americ分西an swimmer in that event since 要關1984.

Jensen’s competitive swimming began 吃離at the age of 12 at the urging of hi喝人s mother – an elite sw行下immer in her own right. At the 小工start of his final year of high school熱姐, Jensen and his parent文大s arranged for him to move to Mission不靜 Viejo, California. For th綠作at year, Jensen lived with a ho拍唱st family and attended Mission Viejo Hi外西gh School. Upon completing自技 high school, Jensen decided t車舞o stay in the area for co電要llege. He attended the Unive黃雪rsity of Southern Cali月來fornia where he was a seven time A日間ll-American and three-time NCAA c靜北hampion. Jensen graduated from US問風C in 2007 and remained with Trojan S呢商wim Club in preparation for the玩體 2008 Olympic Games in Beijin要刀g.

In addition to his succe謝又ss at the collegiate level,內人 Jensen remains one the most internat商國ionally decorated American di微呢stance swimmers. Not onl農人y did Jensen win a silver medal (150志土0m freestyle) at the 2004 就問Olympic Games and a bronze medal 國低(400m freestyle) at the 2008 Olymp年動ic Games, he also is a two-time 20來動05 World Championship silver medalist,路微 and six-time U.S. Nat東熱ional Champion. Jensen remains t子校he American Record holde還了r in the 400m and 1500m freestyle even光媽ts, both of which are the 舞船longest standing Americ區問an swimming records, ma讀玩le or female.

After the conclusion of the 200請西8 Olympics games, Jensen retired 作輛from competitive swimmi歌答ng at the age of 23 to pursue 化現a service career in th藍暗e U.S. Navy. In 2011, Je子在nsen graduated from t低見he US Navy SEAL BUD/S training prog愛數ram at the top of his class.習從 Over the next three years Jens信藍en completed several deployments an畫暗d training missions. Despit她爸e many inquiries about his 師謝experience as a Navy SEAL, Jensen樂高 consistently responds by saying, “Some西多 things are better lef用數t unsaid and remain bet笑物ween the people who ar歌山e part of that. But I哥錢’m tremendously proud of what I’m doi我歌ng. Obviously, it’s a very diffi可可cult thing to get into. After concluding his serv友樂ice with the Navy in early 白師2015, Jensen will matriculate in從來 the Fall of 2015 at the 民亮Stanford Graduate School of B銀山usiness.
